A lawyer and Pictou County native, Sean Fraser has spent the last several years working in Calgary for one of Canada’s top-ranked law firms, Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. He also acts as an Associate Research Fellow with the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law.
A long-time volunteer, Sean served as the Vice-President of a local branch of the United Nations’ Association in Canada, and assists self-represented individuals in civil court proceedings on a pro bono basis. He cares deeply about transparency in government and spent time working to promote access to information laws with a human rights organization in South Africa. If elected as the Member of Parliament for his home riding of Central Nova, Sean will focus on creating economic conditions that will retain and attract young people and families to the region.
Sean holds a Law degree from Dalhousie University, a Master’s degree in Public International Law from the Netherlands’ Leiden University, and a Bachelor of Science from St. Francis Xavier University where he was President of the Students’ Union. A former member of the Stellarton Balmoral Pipe Band, Sean has been playing the bagpipes for 22 years.
